(MENAFN- Arab News) ntegrated Telecom Company (ITC), a major telecommunications service provider in Saudi Arabia, and Huawei, a leading ICT company in the world, have announced the signing of an agreement to renovate and expand capacity of ITC IP Core network data infrastructure for (IP/MPLS) services. The deal will allow ITC to provide modern and high quality telecommunication services to keep pace with new technologies and enable ITC to build cloud computing applications. Ghassan Itani, ITC CEO, said: "Signing a deal with Huawei will lead to further cooperation in the implementation and development of ITC projects in the Kingdom, such as data connectivity and Internet services. Itani stressed the prestigious trade status enjoyed by Huawei in the global market. James Wu, Huawei Saudi CEO, said: "We are glad to be awarded the contract by ITC in which we will provide several types of IP products to ITC, such as NE40E series and ME60 series. Huawei attains a leading position in the Middle East and worldwide for IP products, and we hope the IP core network expansion will help ITC provide powerful services, acquire bigger customer base and realize more business success." ITC was recently named the Best Saudi Telecom Operator for 2013 (Business Services) at TESLA 2013, the biggest annual gathering of major telecom, technology and information professionals and companies in Saudi Arabia. In just 7 years, ITC has achieved many significant milestones, including an independent 17,000 km national fiber network, state-of-the-art data centers across the Kingdom, 7 international gateways connecting the Kingdom to the rest of the world, and the Kingdom's first service level agreements (SLAs).
