Doha: The Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) under the Ministry of Public Health has announced the addition of a new company to provide a certificate verification service for the registration and licensing of health practitioners.

Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) has signed a contract with Gulf Bridge Services (GBS), who will conduct primary source verification for registration and licensing of all healthcare practitioners.

GBS is the second approved service provider to conduct primary source verification (PSV) services, which is one of the mandatory requirements for registration and licensing for healthcare practitioners.

This is done to ensure that all credentials submitted by healthcare practitioners are genuine, thus assuring safe medical practice in Qatar.

Acting CEO of QCHP Dr Samar Aboulsoud stated that QCHP aims to create a competitive environment between the two approved companies to verify the validity of the certificates of health practitioners, which will reflect more effectively and positively on the recipients of the service. This is a part of QCHP's continuous pursuit to achieve its vision and objectives, and as per the performance indicators and quality standards followed by QCHP to provide the service in a timely manner.

Accordingly, any healthcare practitioner who submits an application to obtain the medical license to practice in the State of Qatar may choose to conduct the PSV services through either GBS or the existing service provider Dataflow.

Moreover, applicants can apply through GBS official website or visit customer service counter in Ministry of Public Health premises or the company's premises in Doha, Qatar. The status of the application can also be monitored by telephone.
