Three Pakistani migrants get frostbite E. Turkey

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- Three illegal Pakistani migrants face the risk of losing their limbs after they suffered from hypothermia. Hamza Muhammed Raju -12, Sajid Hajijan Muhammed - 15, and Qasim Zahid - 18, crossed the borders into Turkey from Iran, en route to Istanbul, Turkey's Anadolu Agency reported on Friday.
The security services found the three teens in desperate condition due to freezing cold in Aralik district, Igdir province, east Turkish, on Sunday and rushed them to a hospital in Erzurum province.
"Our patients have been exposed to freezing cold when they were taken to our hospital by gendarme squads," said Op. Dr. Mehmet Ozturk, head of the Burn Center in Erzurum Education and Research Hospital. "Their health conditions are not life-threatening, but examinations show that their fingers and feet may be amputated," he added. Turkey is one of the main transit points for illegal migrants who seek to travel to Europe. The problem of illegal migration has worsened dramatically since the outbreak of the conflict in Syria in 2011. (end) rs.gb
