Tremors continue rattling west Iran


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TEHRAN, Jan 15 (KUNA) -- A moderate 4.1-magnitude quake rocked the suburbs of Sarpol-e Zahab county in Kermanshah Province in west Iran near the borders with Iraq, early Monday, Iranian authorities said.

The epicenter of the quake that occurred at 11:15 p.m. (local time) last night was registered at the depth of eight kilometers, citing a statement by the Seismological Center affiliated to the Institute of Geophysics of Tehran University, Iranian media reported.

Kermanshah province has been hit by several earthquakes since November 12, 2017 when a strong 7.3 magnitude earthquake hit the province's Ezgeleh region killing at least 620 people and injuring over 12,000 others.(end) mw.ha
