Joyalukkas extends support to Dubai Fitness Challenge, World Diabetes Day with exercise session


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Joyalukkas Group highlighted its commitment to the health and well-being of employees with an hour-long fun exercise activity.

The event was in support of the Dubai Fitness Challenge and was set on World Diabetes Day to raise awareness of the risks of the condition currently affecting over 25.8mn people around the world. Headed by Joyalukkas Group executive director John Paul Alukkas, the Fitness Day was held at the Zabeel Park and the staff and guests of the group's various divisions participated in this event.

Alukkas said, 'We welcomed the challenge of H H Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council for Dubai Government. We saw this as a great opportunity to encourage our staff to lead more active lives. We timed our challenge for World Diabetes Day to also promote healthy eating habits and lifestyles, the best ways to decrease risk of developing the condition. We had an energy-fuelled and fun day with everyone and intend to keep doing this often.'

Joyalukkas Group is a strong proponent of public health and wellness, with regular initiatives ranging from blood donation drives to breast cancer awareness projects conducted by its CSR division, Joyalukkas Foundation. The group powered the first-ever women owned indoor cricket team during the highly successful Lenovo Pro-Kerala League. Joyalukkas Work Out Day took place between 8 and 10am and featured an exercise with a professional trainer.
