French soccer team manager Deschamps keeps job until '20

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) PARIS, Oct 31 (KUNA) -- France's national soccer team manager Didier Deschamps will keep his job until 2020 as his contract has been renewed for two years, the French football Federation (FFF) said in a statement on Tuesday.

Deschamps will thus take France to the Russian World Cup in 2018 and he will manage the team until the "Euro" competition in 2020, FFF President Noel Le Graet indicated.

Deschamps, who as a player captained France to their World Cup victory in 1998, has accumulated 43 wins managing the French team out of a total of 69 matches, with 14 defeats and 12 draws.

Over the past five years, France has only lost five games and has risen to the seventh place from the seventeenth place in world soccer rankings. (end) jk.ibi
