Private data has been compromised yet again

(MENAFN) It was revealed this week that customers of Dominos Pizza's personal details, including email addresses were being leaked. It is said that a company contracted with Dominos is responsible for the breach.

What's worse is, that wasn't the only privacy violation that occurred in Australia, just the most recent one. The principal research scientist and security expert at Sophos, Chester Wisniewfki, confirmed "I don't even know if I can count the number of breaches there have been this year". He proceeded "It's probably five or six times the number of people on this planet, which means we've all been victimised in some way or another several times each."

A consultation by Wisniewfki with the government relating the breach made him believe that the government is well able to contain the damage, even when cybercrimes are evolving when more obtainable data is available.

In February, a countermeasure will take effect in which a mandatory data breach notification scheme will be put into action. It will also have organizations warn the public of the risk losing private data might result in.
