(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The MSM30 index inched up a mere 0.03 per cent to close Wednesday's session at 5,656.35.
Trading activity deteriorated from the previous day as turnover fell 50 per cent to RO2.1mn against 10.24mn shares traded.
The Financial index fell 0.54 per cent, while the Industrial index rose 0.97 per cent and the Services gauge added 0.32 per cent.
The MSM Shariah index closed up 0.18 per cent at 854.23. Market breadth remained neutral as ten companies closed higher, against 12 decliners. Twenty scrips, however, closed flat for the day.
Top gainers included Packaging Co Ltd, Galfar Engineering & Contracting and Port Services Corporation which added ten per cent, 6.3 per cent and 2.6 per cent, respectively. Top laggards included Bank Sohar, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and alizz islamic bank, which fell 1.9 per cent, 1.7 per cent and 1.4 per cent, respectively.
