ISLAMABAD, 24th September, 2016 (WAM)--A Pakistan air force pilot was killed on Saturday after his fighter jet crashed near the town of Jamrud.

Pak Armed Forces initially reported that pilot had ejected after crashing due to fog, but later confirmed he had died.

"The pilot of the aircraft sustained fatal injuries," military media wing Inter-Services Public Relations said. The aircraft was on a routine operational training mission when it crashed due to a technical issue, officials said.
