(MENAFN - Arab News) Taurus RDLR Lance & 3rdy GM Pin Pals and D' Barkads qualified for the stepladder finals of the FTBJ-ICBL 33rd Conference bowling tournament at Jeddah Lanes here.
The four teams complete the seven-team stepladder cast that includes outright finalists Alliance in Motion Global Paradise Brand and Lucky Strike.
During the three games with handicap points system playoff for teams Nos. 4 to 11 Taurus captained by Raul delos Reyes emerged the topnotcher on 30 points.
Lance with Ric Reformado as team captain and Evelyn Santoc team manager was second on 20.5 points while longshot Pin Pals of Gerry Mandanas and Leo Edejer's D' Barkads were third and fourth on 20 and 18.5 points.
Hidada missed the boat by half a point on 18. Boleros tallied 17 points MJ Bowlers 11 and Sky Freight Forwarders 9 points.
The first match of the stepladder will be a one game knockout for team positions 4 5 6 and 7 with the winner advancing to the second match against No. 3 Lucky Strike and so on. In the championship match the waiting No. 1 Alliance will have a twice-to-beat privilege against its challenger.
The trio of Daryl Loquias Tess Maraisgan and Susan Patayan led the Taurus charge on 646 597 and 585. Tossing in two games each were Alex Flora 202-194 Edwin Ronquillo 225-226 and Nap patayan 227-218.
Over at Lance & 3rdy Aisah Silabay was the top scorer on 626 wih Ding dela Rosa on 586 and Santoc on 547 as the other players to go the distance. June Estefano contributed 214-212 Reformado had 188-186 and Nonie Yap 177-201.
Next to last in the team standings at the start of the day Pin Pals surprised everyone after they earned a berth for the finals thanks mainly to the quartet of Efren San Pedro 609 Roger Daquiaog 577 Charrie Guzman 554 and May Lourdes 543. The other scorers were Jeff San Pedro 218-195 and Mandanas 193.
For D' Barkads their ladies duo of Thess Grandia and Cheryl Tibay carried the load on 594 and 581. Leo Edejer made 577 to go with the 167-184 by Manny Tibay 181-212 by Gerry Tano and 191-202 by Rally Zamora.
FTBJ-Ramadan No Tap (9) Challenge
Meantime the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah in cooperation with Jeddah Lanes Bowling Center will hold the 2014 Ramadan No Tap (9) Challenge starting Saturday.
A top prize of 1000 plus trophy awaits the champion in the short 12-day tournament that ends July 24. The prize have been scaled down to the 10th place. The first runner-up will receive SR200 plus trophy second runner-up SR1500 plus trophy fourth place SR 1000 fifth place SR 750 sixth place SR 500 and 7th to 10th places SR300 each.
At stake on opening night Saturday with 9 p.m. rolloff are 32-inch color television set and DVD player for the highest two block (6 games) and highest one block (3 games) respectively.
