(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Qatar Stars League will hold a seminar today at the Ritz-Carlton to explain to players how they are evaluated and analysed during matches. The players will attend a one hour talk where they will get a tangible insight into what all the numbers really mean and how they can apply this knowledge to the game better
The meeting will be exclusively for the professional Qatari players to explain the Player's Evaluation System. Ahmad Al Harami, Head of Football Operations at the QSL said: "The aim of tomorrow's seminar is to help improve the level of the league and in so doing, also help the national team. We will sit down with them and explain how they can develop further and improve themselves.
The main speakers will be Ahmad Al Harami, QSL Head of Football Operations, Mohammad Ahmed, QSL Head of Player's Affairs and Control, Miguel Heitor, QSL Football Development Supervisor, Valter Di Salvo, QFA & Aspire Director Football Performance & Science and Martin Bland, Prozone Middle East Manager
The players will be analysed according to

€¢ Physical performance (20 percent
€¢ Technical performance (20 percent
€¢ Attendance & discipline (20 percent
At the beginning of January the clubs were given the mid-season statistics report that showed them how they had performed. The aim fo today's seminar is to go into detail and show ways in which the teams and the league can be improved further
Fitness coaches, performance analysts and sports directors from the clubs will also be present to take notes and ask questions
Miguel Heitor, Football Development Supervisor at the QSL added: "The main aim we are looking to improve is the effective playing time which is already pretty good but I believe we can get another 5 or 6 percent improvement in this area.
Effective playing time is the actual minutes in a match where teams are actually playing positively and aiming to score, in the QSL this currently stands 55 minutes. Basically, it's the time remaining after taking into account, stoppages; throw-ins, disciplinary action, substitutions and so forth
The QSL compares very favorably in comparison to other top European leagues in this particular indicator but can still be improved further. These aims and targets set out by the QSL will ultimately improve the players and also therefore the fan viewing experience
