Armenian Prime Minister Confirms Plans to Attend COP31 in Türkiye

Date:

(MENAFN) Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced his intention to travel to Antalya in southern Türkiye to participate in the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31), according to reports.

"Yes, I plan to go to Antalya to participate in the COP," Pashinyan told journalists during a press briefing Thursday.

The planned visit follows an invitation extended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during their meeting in New York in September. The two leaders discussed ongoing initiatives aimed at normalizing diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Armenia.

COP31 is scheduled to take place from November 9 to 20, bringing together international leaders, climate specialists and civil society representatives to examine global challenges and coordinate efforts to address climate change.

A separate leaders' summit will be held on November 11 and 12 as part of the broader conference program.
