Rubu’ Qarn Theatre and Performing Arts Enriches Members’ Experience at the Fifth Bahrain Theatre Festival
(MENAFN- Saharapr) A delegation from Rubu’ Qarn Theatre and Performing Arts, one of the specialised centres under the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, has travelled to the Kingdom of Bahrain to attend the Fifth Bahrain Theatre Festival 2026, organised by the Union of Bahraini Theatre Associations from 4 to 11 November.
This year’s edition is named in honour of the late artist Khalifa Al Araifi. The participation forms part of the Centre’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence at Gulf theatre events, expand opportunities for cultural and artistic exchange, and provide enriching experiences that nurture talent and develop creative capabilities.
The participation reflects the Centre’s commitment to providing comprehensive educational and artistic experiences that expose members to diverse theatrical practices and enable them to engage directly with different artistic environments. These opportunities aim to enrich their knowledge, broaden their creative perspectives, and deepen their understanding of the various aspects of theatre and performing arts.
Theatre as a Platform for Personal Development and Creative Exploration
Sondos Al Amoudi, Director of Rubu’ Qarn Theatre and Performing Arts, emphasised that participation in international events represents an extension of the Centre’s mission to develop individuals through theatre, reflecting its commitment to nurturing members’ personal growth and refining their creative abilities through integrated educational and practical experiences.
She said: “Theatre is not merely a space for acquiring artistic skills; it is a comprehensive creative experience that develops critical thinking, builds self-confidence, and strengthens communication and self-expression. From this perspective, we are committed to ensuring that our members’ participation in theatre events provides opportunities to discover new artistic perspectives and explore diverse creative approaches, broadening their horizons, developing their artistic sensibilities, and deepening their appreciation of the performing arts.”
She added: “Our participation in the Fifth Bahrain Theatre Festival offers a valuable opportunity to learn through observation, dialogue, and direct engagement with theatrical experiences from across the Gulf region. This enables our members to gain new knowledge and practical insights. We look forward to seeing these experiences contribute to developing their capabilities and enriching their creative practices, further strengthening the Centre’s role in nurturing a generation equipped with the awareness, creativity, and confidence to express themselves.”
Exploring Gulf Theatrical Experiences
The delegation’s programme includes attending theatrical performances and artistic events featured at the festival, exploring different creative approaches and production techniques, and engaging with actors, directors, and theatre professionals. These activities will provide participants with opportunities to discover new theatrical experiences and broaden their artistic knowledge.
The participation also focuses on enriching members’ understanding of acting, directing, scenography, and performing arts through observing theatrical productions and discussing their artistic and aesthetic elements.
The programme further includes a specialised training workshop entitled “The Maze of Character and the Search for It”, which explores the dimensions of theatrical characters, their motivations, and internal conflicts through analysis, improvisation, and practical exercises. The workshop aims to strengthen participants’ skills in character development and portrayal on stage.
Transforming Experiences into Development Opportunities
As part of its commitment to ensuring the lasting impact of international participation, the Centre plans to organise an internal knowledge-sharing session during which delegation members will present the key theatrical experiences and artistic practices they encountered. The session will also explore how these insights can be applied to further develop the Centre’s activities and training programmes.
The Centre also plans to prepare development proposals informed by the knowledge and experiences gained during the festival. These proposals aim to enrich the content of theatrical workshops and initiatives, introduce new artistic perspectives and techniques, and enhance the quality of the educational and practical experiences offered to members.
