“STARS” Summit to Feature Talks, Art Installations and MIT Senseable City Lab’s Annual Meeting in Dubai

Date:

(MENAFN- bursonglobal) Dubai, UAE - 3 Nov 2026 – Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) launches the Science, Technology, Arts, and Research Summit (STARS) for the first time in Dubai at Dubai Future Week, a mega-event held from 18 to 21 November 2026 at Emirates Towers and the Museum of the Future under theme ‘For the Human of the Future’.

STARS introduces a groundbreaking new program that is designed to enrich the Dubai RDI Ecosystem, bringing together scientists, researchers, artists, creators, and decision-makers on a single platform, breaking down traditional barriers and bridging the gap between scientific laboratories, universities, museums, and art galleries.

STARS will explore one of the defining questions of our time: what does it mean to be human in an age of increasingly intelligent machines? The summit will examine how advances in AI, robotics, and neuroscience are challenging our understanding of human identity, consciousness and creativity.

The four-day summit features over 20 panel discussions, 10 tech art installations, and more than 30 interactive research posters, empowering participants to explore emerging technologies and reflect on their profound impact on human life.

Talks and Panel Discussions
The panel discussions at STARS are set to host a distinguished group of international experts and brilliant minds to exchange ideas, explore the vast horizons of science and technology, and debate the future of humanity. In an era where scientific discoveries and technological advancements are accelerating at an unprecedented pace, the greatest challenge is no longer just producing knowledge, but finding new ways to understand, interpret, and transform it into an inclusive, global human dialogue.

Art x Technology Installations
The STARS platform will feature a curated exhibition hosting 10 tech art installations that seamlessly blend artistic creativity with breakthrough technologies across robotics, artificial intelligence, biology, neuroscience, and psychology.

AI Powered Research Posters
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore 30 interactive research posters, using AI tools to discover promising emerging technologies and innovations. The posters will allow visitors a more engaging, interactive interpretations of research, opening new possibilities for communicating complex scientific ideas.

Immersive Experiences

STARS will also host immersive art installations that sit at the cross-section of artistic discovery and scientific research, transforming complex scientific research into tangible, lived realities. Several of these artworks will be unveiled to the public for the very first time during Dubai Future Week.

MIT Open Lab Day
Additionally, the STARS platform will host the annual open labs of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Senseable City Lab. Bringing together experts to explore the latest current research and the future of cities, with a focus on how AI-powered urban systems, emerging technologies, data-driven decision-making, smart infrastructure, and intelligent mobility can help cities adapt to evolving challenges. The discussion will highlight cutting-edge research, innovative applications, and forward-looking ideas shaping the next generation of urban environments.”

A Core Question
Khalifa Al Qama, Chief of Research, Development, and Innovation at DFF, said: “The STARS platform offers a diversified programme of sessions, dialogues, and experiences, all with an aim to answer one core question: What does it mean to be human in an age where machines are becoming increasingly intelligent? It seeks to engage the world in designing a future where science gives us the power to build tomorrow, and art helps us understand it.”

“Science can explain how smart machines work,” Al Qama added, “but it cannot, by itself, define the meaning of creativity, consciousness, emotions, or identity. This is where art steps in, transforming abstract scientific concepts into sensory and intellectual experiences that empower the public to interact directly with these profound questions.”

Dubai Future Week features a robust, action-packed agenda, including keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, inspiring debates, challenges and competitions, pitch platforms, exhibitions, immersive future experiences, closed-door meetings, and offstage activations.

These activities are distributed across 8 unique concepts: The Big Stage, The Prototype Floor, The Pitch, The Policy Room, The Challenge, Offstage, 500 Future Minds and The District.
