Zelenskyy Confirms New Russia-Ukraine-US Talks in UAE
(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced Tuesday that representatives from Ukraine, Russia and the United States will hold another round of negotiations in the United Arab Emirates on Nov. 10-11, expressing hope that the discussions will lead to a meeting between the countries' leaders.
Zelenskyy outlined Kyiv's main priorities for the upcoming negotiations, including protecting energy facilities and other essential infrastructure, as well as addressing grain supplies and humanitarian exchanges.
"It is precisely this format (leaders), precisely at the level of leaders, that can resolve the key issues in order to achieve long-term peace and guaranteed security. We are coordinating very concretely with Germany and with other European countries on the main points of the negotiations. Europe is in the process. This is essential," he said during a joint news conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
The Ukrainian president also expressed interest in exploring a potential prisoner exchange based on the "all-for-all" arrangement.
He added that Washington intends to address security guarantees for Ukraine alongside the proposed “Prosperity Plan,” which consists of a series of economic documents.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov separately confirmed that the trilateral discussions were scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi.
Asked about a possible invitation to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, Zelenskyy clarified that he had no intention of inviting the Russian leader to Kyiv.
