Step Footwear Targets Global Buyers Through Alibaba

(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka: Bangladeshi footwear brand Step Footwear has partnered with Alibaba to broaden its international reach and attract overseas buyers through the global business-to-business e-commerce platform.

The company signed a memorandum of understanding with Maximo International, Alibaba's official channel partner in Bangladesh, on November 1 at Step Footwear's head office in Uttara, Dhaka.

Shamim Kabir, managing director of Step Footwear, and Nayem Hossain, founder and chief executive officer of Maximo International, signed the agreement, according to a press release.

Through the partnership, Step Footwear will join Alibaba as a verified supplier, enabling it to present its products, brand and manufacturing capabilities to importers, wholesalers and potential business partners worldwide.

Kabir described the move as an important step in taking the company beyond the domestic market and expressed confidence that the collaboration would support its international expansion.

The company also participated in CoCreate 2026, Alibaba's global commerce and artificial intelligence summit, held in September.

Operating in Bangladesh for more than a decade, Step Footwear offers footwear for men, women and children. The brand focuses on design, comfort and contemporary styles while promoting its“Made in Bangladesh” identity.

Senior representatives of Baly Group and Maximo International attended the signing ceremony.
