Ukraine, Türkiye Move to Protect Black Sea Grain Corridor
(MENAFN) Ukraine and Türkiye have committed to keeping the Black Sea grain corridor open and running smoothly, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday.
Zelensky flew into Istanbul the same day for talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. In a post on Telegram, he described the session as important and substantive, saying a large share of the discussion centered on the Black Sea region and food security.
“And today, we agreed with President Erdogan to work on the Black Sea ‘grain corridor’ -- to ensure that the corridor exists and operates effectively,” the Ukrainian president noted.
The two governments are also drawing up new joint industrial and other economic projects, according to Zelensky. “We have significant potential in the energy and infrastructure sectors,” he added.
