Lesotho Meteorology Services Urged Basotho To Preserve Rainwater Ahead Of Anticipated El Niño
The Lesotho Meteorological Services (LMS) under the Ministry of Environment urged Basotho to preserve and harvest rainwater as the country is currently getting good rains.
This strategy will assist and ease work during the upcoming dry season anticipated.
According to LMS Director, Dr. Teke Ramotubei who issued this message through LMS publications says, Lesotho has been experiencing good rains since winter, thus the country is likely to receive below-normal rainfall in November and December respectively.
Therefore, he said preserving and or keeping this water while the rains are still heavy will help the society have water for various things.
The LMS remains the national weather service locally, mandated to issue daily forecasts, warnings against severe weather and climate data to mention but a few.
