Explosion Hits Yemen’s Aden After Suspected Houthi Missile Landing

Date:

(MENAFN) A powerful blast shook Yemen's southern governorate of Aden on Sunday after a suspected Houthi ballistic missile struck an area near a military headquarters belonging to the government, according to local reports.

The missile reportedly came down in an isolated sandy area in Bir Ahmed, behind an iron factory in the Al-Buraiqa district in western Aden.

No injuries or property damage were reported following the incident, according to the local source.

Yemeni government officials and military authorities had not issued an immediate statement regarding the explosion.

Aden functions as the interim capital of Yemen's internationally recognized government, which maintains control over extensive areas in the country's south and east.

The Houthi movement, meanwhile, holds Sanaa and large parts of northern and western Yemen.
