Houthis Hit Aden, Lahij With Missiles, Claim Dozens Casualties
(MENAFN) Yemen’s Houthi movement said Monday it had carried out two missile strikes on Saudi forces and weapons depots in the southern provinces of Aden and Lahij, escalating hostilities just hours after a separate launch aimed at Riyadh.
Group spokesman Yahya Saree announced the operations in a statement on X, saying the strikes hit military positions in Aden’s Salah al-Din area and in the Al-Wahat area of Lahij.
According to Saree, the group fired multiple ballistic missiles that struck their targets with precision, “resulting in dozens of dead and wounded … the destruction and incineration of a number of vehicles and weapons depots.” The claims have not been independently verified.
Saree added that the targeted positions and military assets operated under the supervision of Saudi officer Badr al-Harbi.
The announcement followed an earlier Houthi ballistic missile launch toward the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted and destroyed that missile.
