"Two ballistic missiles launched by the Houthi militia toward the cities of Taif and Yanbu were intercepted and destroyed," coalition spokesperson Brig. Gen. Turki al-Maliki said in a statement posted on the social media platform X.
The interception occurred as tensions between the Houthis and the coalition continued to escalate, with attacks also targeting Saudi airports and energy infrastructure.
Saudi Arabia has headed a military alliance supporting Yemen's internationally recognized government in its conflict with the Houthis since 2015.
The Houthi group has maintained control over Yemen's capital, Sanaa, and other parts of the country since 2014.
