Explosive Drones Hit Security Posts in Syria’s Suwayda
(MENAFN) Armed groups attacked internal security positions in southern Suwayda province with explosive-laden drones late Tuesday, according to Syrian media.
A Syrian television channel, citing a security source, reported that the assailants, described as “outlaws,” struck positions across the province’s western countryside.
No casualties or damage have been reported so far, and the Syrian Interior Ministry has not yet issued a statement.
The strike is the latest in a series of assaults in the area. On Oct. 2, gunmen fired on security posts and residences in the Mazraa area of western Suwayda, the same television channel reported.
That followed clashes on Aug. 31 in the same area, when four security personnel were wounded while confronting armed groups, Syrian authorities said.
