Zelenskyy Raises 3 Urgent Needs in Call With Rubio
(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Tuesday that he held a phone call with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio focused on three pressing priorities: air defense supplies, warnings of incoming ballistic missiles and the restoration of Starlink and Starshield services.
In a Telegram statement, Zelenskyy characterized the exchange as “a substantive conversation.”
He then laid out the agenda point by point.
“The first issue was interceptors against ballistic missiles, which are needed to protect lives. The second was early warning of Russian ballistic missile attacks, which is vital. The third was the situation surrounding Starlink/Starshield, which needs to be restored,” he said.
Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Rubio for his readiness to assist and for what the Ukrainian leader called a clear position.
The call came as diplomatic efforts to end the conflict continue, he said.
The two officials agreed to talk again soon to share updates, Zelenskyy said.
