Türkiye, Belgium Strengthen Cooperation at Brussels Ministerial Meeting
(MENAFN) Türkiye and Belgium are set to convene their fourth ministerial meeting in Brussels on Tuesday, bringing together senior officials to discuss bilateral relations, security cooperation and regional developments.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci and Justice Minister Akin Gurlek are scheduled to visit Belgium from October 19 to 21 to attend the October 20 meeting, according to reports citing Turkish Foreign Ministry sources.
Belgium will participate through Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot, Interior Minister Bernard Quintin, Justice Minister Annelies Verlinden, and Asylum and Migration Minister Anneleen Van Bossuyt.
The meeting marks the fourth round of ministerial consultations between the two countries, following the previous session in Ankara in 2016. Discussions are expected to cover a broad range of shared priorities, including counterterrorism, cooperation between judicial and law enforcement authorities, defense industry ties, consular services, visa procedures and migration management.
The ministers will also discuss regional and international developments as part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic coordination between Ankara and Brussels.
Beyond the ministerial gathering, Fidan is expected to hold separate talks with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte during his visit.
His agenda also includes an address at the European Policy Centre think tank and meetings with business representatives to discuss matters of mutual interest.
