War Update: 206 Clashes On Front Line In 24 Hours As Russian Forces Step Up Attacks On Southern Slobozhanskyi Axis

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrinform reports this, citing the General Staff's Facebook post on the battlefield situation as of 8 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20.

Russian forces launched one missile strike and 63 airstrikes, dropping 217 guided glide bombs.

In addition, the enemy launched 8,784 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,607 attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions.

In Sumy region, artillery strikes hit the settlements of Ulianove, Pysarivka, Korenok, Khotin, Mala Korchakivka, Yunakivka, Luzhky, and Velyka Rybytsia. Airstrikes also targeted areas near Pysarivka, Riznykivka, and Sinne.

Ukraine's Defense Forces used aircraft, missile forces, and artillery to strike a UAV command post and two areas where Russian personnel were concentrated.

In the Northern Slobozhanskyi sector, Russian troops launched four attacks near Tovstodubove, Korenok, Buniakyne, and Rivne.

In the Southern Slobozhanskyi sector, Ukrainian units repelled 26 Russian attacks. Russian troops attempted to advance near Kutkivka, Lyman, Starytsia, Mala Vovcha, Izbytske, Vilcha, Okhrimivka, Zakharivka, Karaichne, Bochkove, Zybyne, and Radkivka.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops conducted no assault operations.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 Russian attacks near Kolodiazi, Dibrova, Novomykhailivka, Druzheliubivka, Chervonyi Stav, Zelena Dolyna, and Lyman. Russian attempts to advance were thwarted.

In the Sloviansk sector, Russian troops launched seven attacks near Yampil, Pyskunivka, and Mykolaivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops conducted no assault operations.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, 15 attacks were reported. Russian troops launched assaults near Kostiantynivka, Novoselivka, Druzhkivka, and Novopavlivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled 21 Russian attacks. Russian troops attacked near Serhiivka and Molodetske and launched assaults toward Sofiivka, Vilne, Kucheriv Yar, Hannivka, Chernihivka, Dobropillia, and Myrne.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian forces conducted no active offensive operations.

In the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 11 Russian attacks near Rizdvianka, Dolynka, Hirke, Charivne, and Yehorivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian attacks near Zarichne and Prymorske.

In the Dnipro River sector, Russian forces conducted no active offensive operations.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, the situation remained largely unchanged. No signs of Russian forces forming offensive groupings were detected.

As previously reported, Russia's total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, are estimated at approximately 1,568,720 troops as of October 20.
