Zelensky: Pentagon Delays Vital Supplies For Ukraine

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The head of state announced this on Facebook following a conference call on the situation in Ukraine's regions after the latest wave of Russian attacks, according to Ukrinform.

“The Ukrainian Minister of Defense, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Office's team have been given urgent tasks to contact partners who can support our air defense as quickly as possible. There are political agreements that have not been implemented at the working level. There are also delays in certain types of vital supplies at the level of the U.S. Department of Defense,” Zelensky noted, adding that an additional meeting will be held this evening to review the results of all contacts scheduled for the day.

“I am counting on concrete results,” the President said.

Separately, Zelensky noted that in various sectors of the front, Starshield equipment ceases to function at speeds of 130–161 km/h.

“There was also a separate report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding information from units on the situation with the use of Starlink/Starshield services. Unfortunately, we have observed that in various sectors of the front, the equipment ceases to function at speeds of 130–161 kilometers per hour. This hinders our frontline logistics and limits the use of various types of drones, primarily mid-range strike drones and interceptors of rocket-propelled 'Shaheds,'” the President reported.

He instructed his team at all levels to revisit this issue with partners.“Speed matters when it comes to saving lives,” the head of state emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, Serhiy Beskrestnov (“Flash”), a special advisor to the President on technology issues, stated that on the night of October 14, SpaceX imposed speed limit on Starlink terminals while in motion; the Ukrainian Defense Forces did not receive any warning.

The Ministry of Defense also reported that the Starlink operational restrictions detected that night hampered the operation of unmanned systems, logistics, and the Defense Forces'“middle strike” capabilities.

On October 15, the Ministry of Defense stated that the operation of Starshield terminals while in motion had resumed.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk stated that the Starshield systems belong to and are controlled by the U.S. government, so decisions regarding any speed or usage restrictions are made by the U.S. military or the president.

According to Axios, the White House stated that it had no involvemen in the restrictions on the Starlink satellite system's operation in Ukraine.

Ten U.S. senators from the Republican and Democratic parties have called on the Pentagon's inspector general to immediately investigate disruptions to Starlink and intelligence-sharing systems in Ukraine, which may have hindered efforts to counter Russian airstrikes.
