CSE Masterminds 2026 Concludes With Rs 5 Million Given In Prizes

(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) ZeroBeta won the eighth CSE Masterminds Quiz, receiving Rs. 1.5 million and hotel vouchers, according to the Colombo Stock Exchange.

The exchange said 100 corporate teams competed at Shangri-La Colombo on 9 October, with prizes valued at Rs. 5 million across the event.

HNB Stockbrokers finished as first runner-up, receiving Rs. 750,000, while John Keells Stock Brokers placed third and received Rs. 375,000.

Contestants answered questions covering local and international capital markets, Sri Lanka's economy and business, general knowledge, sport, entertainment and current affairs.

Teams also competed for awards across nine industry sectors.

Central Bank of Sri Lanka Team 1 won the banking category, while People's Leasing & Finance won the leasing and finance award.

HNB Stockbrokers took the stockbroking category, and NDB Wealth Management Team 1 won the fund management award.

Ceylinco Life Insurance won the insurance category. ZeroBeta also secured the telecommunications and technology award.

Nithya Partners Team 2 won the services category, InQube Global won manufacturing, and LOLC Holdings Team 1 won the diversified sector award.

CSE chief executive Rajeeva Bandaranaike said the competition had grown from an event involving a small group of corporate teams on the exchange's trading floor in 2017.

The programme also included audience question rounds, a bonus segment for contestants and a raffle offering return air tickets, according to the release.

HNB Investment Bank sponsored the sector awards. Separate sponsors supported the audience and contestant question segments.

The exchange said it intended to hold the ninth edition in 2027 as part of its efforts to promote capital-market awareness among corporate participants.
