Date:

(MENAFN- Four Agency) Umm Al Quwain, 19 October 2026 - The Medical Office (TMO), a subsidiary of PureHealth, the largest healthcare group in the Middle East, successfully conducted a patient experience training programme accredited by the UAE - Emirates Health Services (EHS), bringing together nearly 200 physicians from across the three Sheikh Khalifa Initiative Hospitals. The programme focused on practical ways to strengthen communication and patient-centred care in everyday clinical interactions.
The participating hospitals included Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital in Umm Al Quwain, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Ajman, and Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah. Organised by the Patient Experience Department at TMO and delivered in partnership with Health.Links | Press Ganey, the programme marked TMO’s second at-scale patient experience training initiative, following a programme for nursing teams across the three hospitals in 2025.
Under the theme ‘The Human Side of Care – Building a Culture of Exceptional Patient Experience’, the programme took place at the Umm Al Quwain Cultural Centre for three days. It was designed to strengthen patient-centred care practices and equip physicians with practical approaches that can be applied in everyday clinical interactions.
The initiative brought together physicians from three participating Sheikh Khalifa Initiative Hospitals as part of a system-wide approach to enhancing patient experience. Grounded in real clinical scenarios, the programme focused on strengthening communication and patient-centred thinking as key components of healthcare quality and safety.
Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Aref Al Shehhi, Chief Executive Officer of The Medical Office, said: “Investing in our physicians and clinical teams is an investment in the quality of care our patients receive. Bringing together nearly 200 physicians from across the three Sheikh Khalifa Initiative Hospitals for this accredited programme reinforces patient experience as a strategic priority. It reflects our commitment to compassionate, high-quality care and supports the ambition of 'We the UAE 2031' to position the UAE among the top 10 countries globally in healthcare quality."
Mr. Haitham Arar, Chief Performance & Business Excellence Officer at The Medical Office, added: “Patient experience is a shared responsibility across every role, every shift and every hospital. This programme strengthens that responsibility by helping our teams embed clear communication and patient-centred thinking into daily practice. For us, performance excellence means translating patient feedback into measurable improvements that patients and families can feel through being listened to, treated with dignity and involved in decisions about their care."
Mr. Adel Al Shabaan, Managing Partner at Health.Links | Press Ganey, said: "We are proud to have partnered with The Medical Office on this initiative across the Sheikh Khalifa Initiative Hospitals. Drawing on Press Ganey's evidence-based approach and real clinical scenarios, the programme equipped physicians and clinical teams with practical tools to strengthen communication, respond with empathy and build trust with patients and families. Our focus is on helping teams apply these skills in everyday care and sustain them beyond the workshop."
The training has been awarded a maximum of 5.5 CPD Credit Hours by the UAE - Emirates Health Services and forms part of broader efforts to support continuous professional development across the Sheikh Khalifa Initiative Hospitals. Following the programme, participating physicians will translate their learning into unit-level improvements, while feedback and assessment outcomes will help inform future patient experience initiatives across the Sheikh Khalifa Initiative Hospitals. The programme reflects the continued commitment of TMO and the Sheikh Khalifa Initiative Hospitals to strengthening patient-centred care and supporting the development of healthcare professionals across the network. Working alongside healthcare partners and clinical leaders, TMO remains focused on advancing professional development, strengthening workforce capability and supporting the delivery of high-quality care.
