Women & the Economy Conference Concludes with Kuwait’s Next Generation in the Spotlight

Date:

(MENAFN- Bensirri PR) Kuwait City, October 18, 2026 – Lei Wa Lakom, a Kuwait-based nonprofit initiative dedicated to empowering individuals through financial awareness, knowledge-sharing, and community development, today announced the conclusion of the inaugural Women & the Economy Conference, highlighted by its Youth & Children Conference, “Our Future in the Economy,” held in collaboration with the Sabah Al-Ahmad Centre for Giftedness and Creativity.

The conference was held under the patronage and attendance of H.E. Abdulaziz Nasser Al-Marzouq, Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, in collaboration with Kuwait University and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS).

The Youth & Children Conference was designed as a conversation between generations, giving children and young people a seat at the table to explore how today’s economic decisions shape tomorrow’s opportunities, and how money, technology, and heritage fit together in the future they will build.

The program included an interactive game-design workshop led by Dr. Bedour Al-Saqabi, Faculty Member at the College of Basic Education, Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), in collaboration with the Sabah Al-Ahmad Centre for Giftedness and Creativity, as well as a conversation in which Manal AlGharabally, Presenter and Co-Producer of the Youth & Children Conference, asked young Abdulaziz Ahmad Al-Jahouri how he sees the future. Abdulaziz then turned the questions to “Muneerah,” a humanoid robot from the future, in a lighthearted conversation about what lies ahead for children, work, and learning. It also featured short presentations by Weyay Bank on technology and the future of financial services, and by Sadu House and MADE51, made possible by UNHCR, on craft, identity, and handmade traditions, as well as a closing panel with Alya Al-Sane, Vice President of Marketing at Weyay Bank, and Masirah Al-Enezi of Sadu House and MADE51 on how money and technology, and craft and identity, will shape the next generation’s future.

Taiba Alhumaidhi, Founder of Lei Wa Lakom, said: “From the Youth & Children Conference to today’s talk with Kuwait University students, we wanted the Women & the Economy Conference to speak to the generation that will shape Kuwait’s economic future, because everything we build today, from policies to investments and opportunities, is ultimately for them. The high-level attendance and rich discussions of this first edition show how much this conversation matters, and why it must continue. Our sincere thanks go to the Sabah Al-Ahmad Centre for Giftedness and Creativity, Kuwait University, and all our sponsors and partners for helping make it a success.”

Interactive Workshops with KAFO
In partnership with KAFO, the first day featured three interactive workshops that equipped participants with practical skills. Ahmad Aloun, a computer engineer and certified trainer in agentic AI for business, led “From Generative AI to AI Agents: An Introduction.” Ghalia Al-Nuwaief, an accountant with more than twelve years of experience in personal budgeting, debt restructuring, and asset management, led “Personal Financial Diagnosis and Treatment.” Hafsa Almuhanna, IT Director and Founder of Codera, led “Engineering Trust: AI and Cybersecurity for Sustainable Growth in Kuwait.”

Closing the Conference: From Decision-Makers to Students
The conference concluded today at Kuwait University with a conversation between several of the conference speakers and students, held in collaboration with the Women’s Studies Unit under the title “Your Future, Your Money, Your Move: Jobs, AI, Money & the Decisions That Will Shape Your Next 10 Years.” The talk brought the conference’s discussions directly to the generation preparing to enter the workforce, exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping jobs, how to manage money from the start of a career, and the decisions that will define the decade ahead.

Earlier in the day, a closed high-level roundtable, “From Participation to Economic Contribution: Unlocking Women’s Economic Potential in Kuwait,” was held at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Union of Investment Companies, with the aim of turning the first day’s insights into actionable strategies.
