Türkiye Strongly Denounces Houthi Attack on Riyadh Airport

Date:

(MENAFN) Türkiye strongly denounced the latest Houthi assault on King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, on Sunday, reaffirming its support for the kingdom, according to an official statement.

“We condemn in the strongest terms the Houthi targeting of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, once again,” the ministry said in a statement.

Ankara extended its condolences to the families of those killed, expressed sympathy for the Saudi population and wished those injured a swift recovery.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry stressed that deliberately attacking civilians and civilian facilities violates international law and the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law.

“Actions that threaten regional security and stability and undermine the international community’s joint efforts to establish peace must be ended immediately,” it said.

Türkiye also reaffirmed its commitment to respecting and supporting Saudi Arabia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, calling for an end to actions that threaten stability across the region.
