London March: Hundreds of Thousands Demand Israel Sanctions
(MENAFN) Hundreds of thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched through central London, pressing the British government to impose sweeping sanctions on Israel as they marked three years since its military campaign in Gaza began, a campaign the protesters call genocide.
The crowd assembled at Embankment and walked to Downing Street, home of the prime minister’s office, demanding an end to what they described as genocide and a full arms embargo on Israel.
Marchers waved Palestinian flags and carried placards backing the Palestinian people. Messages included “Israel targets children,” “Free Palestine” and “Stop the genocide.”
Demonstrators also chanted slogans, among them “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”
Organizer demands. The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) laid out its position in a post on X: “We demand our government sanction the whole state of Israel and implement a full arms embargo.”
“After 3 years Israel continues to commit genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza,” it added.
