Türkiye Denounces Houthi Attacks Against Saudi Arabia

Date:

(MENAFN) Türkiye has issued a sharp rebuke of the Houthi group after attacks on two Saudi airports left three people dead and 36 injured, Ankara said Friday, condemning the strikes “in the strongest terms.”

The Turkish Foreign Ministry named both targets in a statement posted on the U.S.-based social media platform X: “We condemn in the strongest terms the targeting by the Houthis of Abha International Airport in southern Saudi Arabia and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh,”

The ministry extended condolences to the victims’ families and wished the wounded a swift recovery. It demanded an immediate halt to assaults on civilians and infrastructure, cautioning that such strikes deepen tensions across the region.

“We reiterate our full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and renew our call for existing disputes to be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy,” the ministry added.

Houthi campaign against Saudi Arabia
The Iran-backed Houthi movement in Yemen has launched ballistic missiles and drones at Riyadh and other locations across Saudi Arabia.

The kingdom’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) confirmed the casualty toll, saying three people died and 36 were hurt in the attacks on Abha International Airport in the southern city of Abha and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
