Türkiye, Czechia Expand Cooperation on Recycling, Waste Management
(MENAFN) Türkiye and Czechia are exploring opportunities to strengthen collaboration in recycling and sustainable waste management through a forum that brought together government officials, local authorities, businesses and environmental industry representatives in Istanbul.
The Türkiye-Czechia Sustainable Recycling Forum was jointly organized by the Czech Consulate General in Istanbul, the Our World Foundation and the Climate and Sustainability Sciences Research Foundation (ISBAV).
The gathering was held at the Social Facilities Conference Hall on Istanbul Technical University's Macka Campus, with discussions centered on developing joint initiatives in recycling and improving sustainable approaches to waste management.
Participants included Istanbul Deputy Governor Cengiz Karabulut, Czech Consul General in Istanbul Olga Hajflerova, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Head of Foreign Relations Barbaros Buyuksagnak and Head of Environmental Protection and Control Aysen Erdincler.
Officials from Türkiye's Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Ministry and the Turkish Environment Agency also took part in the event.
The forum additionally brought together companies, industry associations and civil society organizations from both countries working in areas including recycling, plastics, waste management and environmental technologies, providing a platform to examine potential partnerships and exchange expertise.
