Zelenskyy, Tusk Coordinate Ukraine’s Winter Energy Preparations
(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Monday, focusing on measures to prepare Ukraine’s energy system for the coming winter as well as other “sensitive issues.”
"Every day, Russia chooses escalation over peace. And we are very grateful to Poland that, at such a difficult time, we are receiving the help we need," Zelenskyy said in a statement on US social media platform X.
Zelenskyy also updated Tusk on efforts to organize potential trilateral technical-level discussions involving Ukraine, the US and Russia.
"There are no obstacles on our side, but it is important that the American side prepare on its end and ensure Russia’s readiness," Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian president added that some matters could not be adequately addressed through a phone conversation and said the two leaders had agreed to hold a face-to-face meeting soon.
"Not everything can be discussed in detail over the phone, so we agreed to meet in person in the near future," he added.
