Aselsan Secures Major Deals for Hybrid Air Defense Systems
(MENAFN) Turkish defense manufacturer Aselsan has reached agreements worth €2.46 billion ($2.75 billion) with Türkiye’s Secretariat of Defense Industries for the procurement of hybrid air defense systems, the company said Monday.
The newly signed contracts are larger than two major defense agreements previously announced by the company, including a €1.65 billion air defense deal in September 2025 and another €1.47 billion agreement for expanded air defense production in July 2026.
In a filing with the Public Disclosure Platform, Aselsan said the new contracts are expected to contribute positively to its revenues.
The company identified Oct. 5 as the anticipated start date for the new business relationship.
The Secretariat of Defense Industries represented 30.6% of Aselsan’s net sales and 37.8% of its trade receivables in the company’s most recently published financial statements.
Aselsan did not provide information on when the systems would be delivered or disclose additional technical details about the equipment covered by the contracts.
CEO Ahmet Akyol said on Turkish social media platform NSosyal that continuing serial production was further reinforcing Türkiye’s Steel Dome air defense architecture and improving the protection of the country’s airspace.
