Israeli Forces Demolish Structure in Western Damascus Countryside

(MENAFN) Israeli forces demolished an abandoned building Monday during a military incursion into the western Damascus countryside in southwestern Syria.

The forces entered agricultural areas located between Beit Jinn and Mazraat Beit Jinn before destroying the unused structure.

No further information was provided about the operation, and there were no immediate reports of casualties.

The area around Beit Jinn has experienced several Israeli military incursions in recent weeks. On Sept. 18, Israeli forces shelled areas on the outskirts of the town. Days earlier, another Israeli unit entered agricultural land surrounding Beit Jinn with approximately 10 military vehicles, two tanks and a bulldozer.

Southern parts of Syria have repeatedly faced Israeli military activity, including incursions, raids, searches, arrests and the establishment of checkpoints.

Israel has controlled most of the Syrian Golan Heights since 1967. After the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government in December 2024, Israel declared the 1974 disengagement agreement invalid and took control of the demilitarized buffer zone and additional positions, including the Syrian side of Mount Hermon, also known as Jabal al-Sheikh.
