Twenty-One Countries Endorse Antalya Declaration on Peaceful Space Use

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir said Sunday that participants representing 21 countries had endorsed the Antalya Declaration, marking the first declaration adopted during the International Astronautical Congress’ Ministers and Members of Parliament Meeting.

“We are particularly pleased that 32 distinguished MMoP participants from 21 countries, consisting of ministers, parliamentarians and space agency heads, have accepted and endorsed this declaration,” Kacir said.

He said the declaration underscored the International Astronautical Federation’s important role in strengthening international cooperation and encouraged countries and international organizations that have not yet participated to adopt and sign the document.

The meeting gathered ministers, lawmakers, parliamentary delegations, space agency leaders and senior representatives from international organizations representing 38 countries.

Discussions focused on key issues including the peaceful exploration and use of outer space, space missions, space law, greater participation of developing nations in the global space sector and the expansion of a sustainable space economy.
