Million-Copy Bestselling Author Brings Max Tyco and the Rowki Guardians of "Legend Rising" to Plotsy

Jonathan takes an ordinary, relatable guy and drops him into this enormous galactic story, and somehow it works beautifully.” - Michael Gorton, Founder & CEO of PlotsyAUSTIN, TX, UNITED STATES, September 30, 2026 /EINPresswire / -- Plotsy, the company behind the Plotsy vBookTM, today announced it has signed award-winning author Jonathan Yanez. "Legend Rising," the first book in Yanez's "Galactic Guardians" series, is the newest title set for translation from book to screen on Plotsy.

The Plotsy vBookTM translates a novel to the screen and releases it in Parts, the same way a printed book unfolds in chapters. The story and the storyteller stay exactly the same: only the medium changes, from words on a page to a visual experience readers can watch. The Plotsy vBookTM joins print, ebook, and audiobook as another way for readers to experience a story.

Jonathan Yanez has sold more than one million copies of his books and is a winner of the Jack London Award. His work has been adapted for film, and those adaptations have gone on to win awards of their own. Yanez writes stories built around heroes readers can feel good about rooting for, with adventure, family, and hope at their core. He lives with his wife and their two young children, whom he calls his "warriors in training."

"Legend Rising" follows Max Tyco, a long-haul trucker who wants nothing more than to be left alone. That changes one strange night on a dark highway near White Sands, when Max encounters something that turns his life upside down. Suddenly recruited into the Rowki Guardians, an ancient galactic order sworn to protect the stars, Max finds himself learning to pilot starships, navigating alien worlds, and preparing for a war that could decide the fate of an entire planet. Through it all, one question follows him: why was he chosen? Fans of "The Last Starfighter" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" will find the classic space opera they've been waiting for.

“Legend Rising was just a lot of fun to read,” said Michael Gorton, Founder and CEO of Plotsy.“What really grabbed me was the originality of making a long haul truck driver the hero of a science fiction adventure. Jonathan takes an ordinary, relatable guy and drops him into this enormous galactic story, and somehow it works beautifully. I finished the book thinking, this is exactly the kind of story I want to see come to life on Plotsy.”

“Creative control and keeping the story true to its intended message for readers has always been important to me,” said Jonthan Yanez.“The team behind Plotsy was what sold me on the idea. Once I met them and understood how committed they were to quality storytelling, I knew this was a group of creators I could work with. Buckle up, you're in for a treat.”

Part One of "Legend Rising" Plotsy vBookTM will be available for streaming in the Plotsy App later this year. Fans can sign up for exclusive production updates at plotsy. Authors interested in bringing their own work to the Plotsy vBookTM format can learn more at plotsy/for-authors.

Watch a great book.
