Anthropic's Amodei Urges Safe AI Win After White House Meeting
(MENAFN) Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei on Tuesday pressed the case for both the promise and the peril of artificial intelligence after a White House meeting with President Donald Trump and leading technology executives.
Speaking to reporters, Amodei pointed to medicine as a field where AI could deliver major advances, and said the technology's safe development will require collaboration.
“I will say what I've always said, which is that AI has incredible benefits,” he said. “I've talked about the medical benefits of the technology. As the president has said, whoever wins AI, wins.”
Amodei said the United States should work collectively to keep its lead in artificial intelligence while confronting the technology's potential dangers.
“We all need to work together to make sure that we can win, and we can win safely if we do this right,” he said. “If we work with the president and everyone here, we can win safe.”
The remarks came as industry leaders and government officials gathered at the White House to discuss the fast-moving AI sector, its economic and national security implications, and the need to balance technological leadership with safeguards against risk.
At the event, Trump unveiled America.gov, an AI-powered federal platform meant to help Americans access government services.
The president also said he will sign an executive order to officially rename artificial intelligence “superintelligence.” He stressed the US lead in the fast-developing technology sector.
