UAE President Meets Netanyahu to Discuss Bilateral Ties
(MENAFN) UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during Netanyahu’s visit to the UAE on Sunday, according to reports.
The two leaders discussed relations between the UAE and Israel, including possible ways to further strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation.
Netanyahu’s visit came without an advance public announcement from his office, according to reports. He reportedly traveled aboard a private aircraft belonging to an Israeli businessman that has previously been used by senior Israeli officials for overseas trips.
The visit took place amid renewed attention surrounding reports about intelligence warnings Netanyahu allegedly received before the Oct. 7, 2023 attack by the Palestinian group Hamas.
Reports also said the UAE president had privately warned Netanyahu about the potential threat before the attack, but the information was allegedly not shared with Israel’s security leadership.
