Zelenskyy Says Russia Expanded Mobilization Efforts
(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday that Russia has launched additional mobilization efforts, claiming that Moscow is seeking more recruits, including foreign nationals, through different methods.
In his evening address, Zelenskyy said more than 8,000 North Korean troops are currently in Russia and claimed that another contingent of 10,000 personnel is expected to be sent there.
“They are being selected for training and subsequent transfer to Russia,” he said. “Russia is paying for this, including with technology.”
Zelenskyy further alleged that North Korea has started manufacturing Shahed-type attack drones as part of the assistance and technical cooperation it receives from Russia.
“This is how evil spreads and how a threat to life in one part of the world extends to other parts of the world. This can only be overcome together,” he said.
Russia has repeatedly denied that it intends to carry out another mobilization campaign. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, meanwhile, accused Ukraine of attempting to “ideologically destabilize” conditions inside Russia.
