Israeli Army Launches Massive Blast in Southern Lebanon
(MENAFN) The Israeli army carried out a “massive” explosion Monday in the southern Lebanese town of Mansouri, according to reports.
The blast caused “strong” tremors across the area, while the sound of the explosions was heard in the city of Tyre and several nearby villages.
Meanwhile, a Lebanese army engineering unit dismantled an Israeli surveillance camera fitted with a solar power system near Wadi Zibqin in the Tyre district, according to reports.
In Nabatieh district, Israeli warplanes also carried out an airstrike on an area between Mayfadoun and Zawtar al-Sharqiya. No casualties or property damage were reported.
The Israeli attacks took place despite a US-brokered framework agreement signed by Lebanon and Israel on June 26.
The agreement calls for a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory and the deployment of Lebanese army personnel in areas vacated by the Israeli forces.
Despite the agreement, Israel has continued carrying out attacks in Lebanon.
Lebanese authorities say the attacks have killed at least 4,386 people, wounded 12,407 and displaced more than 1 million others since March 2.
