Drones Strike Iranian Kurdish Opposition Camp in Erbil
(MENAFN) Three drones struck the Azadi camp in Iraq’s Erbil province on Monday, targeting a site linked to the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI), according to authorities in the Kurdish region.
The Kurdistan Regional Government’s security agency said the attack took place at dawn in the Koy Sanjaq district, southeast of Erbil city, according to reports.
A source from the group said the drones involved in the strike were manufactured in Iran. The attack caused damage to property at the camp but did not result in any deaths, the source said.
Authorities did not immediately identify those responsible for launching the drones or provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The Azadi camp has been targeted in previous drone attacks, including incidents reported in June and April, amid wider regional tensions that followed US and Israeli strikes against Iran in February.
