Türkiye Honors Fallen Azerbaijani Soldiers on Karabakh Remembrance Day
(MENAFN) Türkiye paid solemn tribute Sunday to Azerbaijani soldiers killed in the battle for Karabakh, joining Azerbaijan in observing the nation's official Remembrance Day.
Writing on Turkish social media platform NSosyal, Communications Director Burhanettin Duran honored the fallen, declaring: "The struggle for the liberation of Karabakh became one of the strongest examples of courage, sacrifice and love of homeland engraved in the memory of our recent history."
Duran singled out those who gave their lives "for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of their homeland," extending his appreciation to surviving veterans of the conflict.
Invoking the "two states, one nation," doctrine that underpins Turkish-Azerbaijani relations, Duran stressed the depth of the alliance binding the two nations.
He closed with a message of enduring solidarity: "May our bond of affection, common history and brotherhood with brotherly Azerbaijan, with whom we are united in joy and sorrow, endure forever."
