Erdogan, Pashinyan Meet in New York, Back Deeper Türkiye-Armenia Ties
(MENAFN) President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday that Türkiye backs normalizing trade and transport links between the two countries and wants to keep the positive momentum in bilateral relations going.
The two leaders met at the Turkish House, or Turkevi, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, according to Türkiye's Communications Directorate.
Their talks touched on bilateral relations as well as broader regional and global issues.
Erdogan said Türkiye welcomes reciprocal steps in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and noted that expanding cooperation between Ankara and Yerevan within international organizations is helping drive the normalization effort forward.
He also invited Pashinyan to attend the COP31 Leaders' Summit in Türkiye.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also took part in the meeting.
