Iran’s Foreign Minister Joins UN General Assembly in New York
(MENAFN) Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in New York on Monday to take part in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, according to local media reports.
Araghchi is heading a high-level Iranian delegation and was welcomed at John F. Kennedy International Airport by Gholamhossein Darzi, Iran’s permanent representative and charge d’affaires to the United Nations, according to reports.
Before reaching New York, the Iranian foreign minister made a short stop in Doha, where he held talks with Qatari officials on the latest developments and regional issues.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is expected to arrive in New York on Tuesday to participate in the 81st UN General Assembly and deliver an address.
During the gathering, Pezeshkian is also expected to hold meetings and consultations with a number of world leaders and senior officials on the sidelines of the event.
