US Denies Entry Visas to Pezeshkian’s Media Delegation
(MENAFN) An Iranian official said Monday that the United States had denied visas to members of President Masoud Pezeshkian’s media team ahead of his planned trip to New York on Tuesday for the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
Habibollah Abbasi, director general of public relations at the Iranian presidency, said the Iranian public would continue to receive updates about Pezeshkian’s planned bilateral meetings during his visit.
According to Abbasi, the president’s trip to the United States is scheduled to last five days, with two of those days set aside for travel.
Pezeshkian is expected to be accompanied by Mohsen Haji-Mirzaei, chief of staff of the Iranian presidency, and Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, deputy head of presidential protocol and ceremonies.
Abbasi also said the Iranian president is scheduled to hold meetings with several leaders participating in the UN gatherings during his time in New York.
US authorities had not immediately issued a public response regarding the reported visa denials.
