LPG Tanker Suffers Damage from Unknown Projectiles in Hormuz
(MENAFN) An LPG tanker was hit Monday by what was described as "debris from unknown projectiles" while sailing through the Strait of Hormuz, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) Center.
The maritime agency reported that the vessel’s crew remained unharmed following the incident, with no environmental damage recorded. The tanker is expected to proceed toward its next scheduled port.
"The Master reports all crew are safe and no environmental impact. The tanker will continue to its next port of call.
"Authorities are investigating," the UKMTO said in a statement on US social media company X, while urging vessels operating in the waterway to remain vigilant and "report any suspicious activity."
No additional information about the circumstances surrounding the incident was immediately released.
The report represents the second incident of this kind announced by the UKMTO in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday.
