BRAC Bank Named In Forbes' Top-Performing Banks Ranking

(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka: BRAC Bank has secured a place on Forbes' inaugural list of the World's Top Performing Banks 2026, becoming the only lender from Bangladesh included in the global ranking.

Forbes and data intelligence firm Statista assessed 500 banks across 89 countries for the ranking, using financial data from S&P Capital IQ, research and information submitted by participating institutions.

The new list differs from Forbes' earlier banking rankings, which were largely based on customer feedback. This year's assessment focused on measurable financial performance, including profitability, capital and funding strength, asset quality and efficiency, and the quality of growth and earnings.

BRAC Bank was placed in Forbes' fifth asset-size category, covering lower mid-sized banks.

The recognition comes as the private commercial bank reports stronger financial results. Its net profit increased 57 percent year-on-year to BDT 1,423 crore during the six months through June 2026.

The bank's non-performing loan ratio stood at 2.03 percent during the first half of the year, while regulatory capital reached BDT 10,340 crore, the highest among banks in Bangladesh, according to the statement.

BRAC Bank's customer deposits also crossed BDT 1 lakh crore by the end of August, extending the momentum recorded during the first half of the year.
