Visit Qatar Unveils Packed 2026-2027 Events Calendar

Doha, Qatar: Visit Qatar yesterday unveiled its 2026-2027 Qatar Calendar, presenting an extensive programme of over 560 sporting, cultural, entertainment, and family events designed to offer residents and visitors a diverse range of experiences throughout the new season under one unified national platform.

The event brought together representatives from the tourism, entertainment, sports, and events sectors as Qatar prepares for another busy season on its events calendar.

The launch underlines the country's growing focus on developing a year-round programme of events that strengthens Qatar's position as a destination for international visitors while providing residents with a wide choice of activities. Qatar Calendar serves as a central platform for promoting upcoming events and festivals across the country.

The official Visit Qatar platform features events ranging from major international sporting competitions and cultural festivals to exhibitions, family entertainment, and seasonal experiences.

Among the dignitaries present at the event were the Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Visit Qatar H E Saad bin Ali Al-Kharji; Managing Director of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy H E Hassan Al-Thawadi; CEO of Visit Qatar Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mawlawi; and US entertainer and television personality Steve Harvey, among others.

The 2026-2027 programme comes at a time when Qatar continues to build on its established reputation for hosting major global sporting and entertainment events.

The country's calendar includes high-profile sporting competitions alongside exhibitions, concerts, cultural programmes and community-focused activities.

Al-Kharji described the launch as an important milestone in strengthening Qatar's standing on the international events map.“Qatar Calendar serves as a unified national platform, bringing together cultural, entertainment, and sporting events delivered by entities across the country. The platform plays a strategic role in amplifying and promoting events, expanding their reach among residents and visitors, while also serving as a trusted source of information for audiences and the media.”

He added:“This achievement reflects the strength of collaboration between government entities and private-sector partners in delivering an integrated and seamless tourism experience. Looking ahead, our focus remains on advancing high-quality tourism projects, fostering an environment that enables investment and sustainable growth, accelerating digital innovation, and raising standards of service excellence.

These priorities will continue to support the ambitions of Qatar National Vision 2030 and strengthen Qatar's position as a leading global tourism destination.”

The programme also featured a high-level panel discussion titled“The Role of Sport in Enhancing the Country's Image as a Dynamic Destination”; the session brought together Al-Kharji and Al-Thawadi.

The panel discussion was followed by the launch of Visit Qatar's new winter campaign, 'A World of Events in Qatar,' which invites audiences to discover the range of events and experiences taking place across the country throughout the season.

The launch event also featured an exhibition space showcasing stakeholder booths from a number of entities.

One of the major highlight of the event was the agreement signing between Visit Qatar and several key partners and stakeholders, including Qatar Rail.

CEO of Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) Jassim Mohammed Al-Ansari said,“The MoU signed with Visit Qatar reflects Qatar Rail's commitment to strengthening the role of public transport in supporting the tourism and events sector in the State of Qatar. Through this partnership, we look forward to leveraging Doha Metro and Lusail Tram services to facilitate visitor access to various destinations and events and to raise awareness of the public transport options provided by our networks, contributing to the delivery of an integrated, world-class mobility experience on various occasions throughout the year.”
